Resources, training, and support for schools, child care providers, and community organizations serving nutritious meals across Hawaiʻi.

As part of the State of Hawaii Department of Education, Hawaii Child Nutrition Programs (HCNP) provides access to healthy meals for Hawaii’s residents in schools, day care centers and the community through federally funded programs.  We encourage healthier eating habits, and help to ensure that all programs meet federal nutrition standards.


Visitor Guidelines & Code of Conduct


The Hawaiʻi State Department of Education (Department) is committed to fostering an environment that reflects the spirit of Living Aloha—a culture of respect, cooperation, and mutual support. To ensure that our offices remain safe, harmonious, and positive for everyone, all visitors are expected to adhere to our behavioral standards.

  • Be Kind and Respectful: Please use polite and respectful language when communicating face-to-face, via phone calls, texts, emails, or social media. No mean, hurtful, or prohibited words/actions are allowed.

  • Give People Space: Respect the personal and professional boundaries and comfort zones of employees, students, and other visitors. Avoid any aggressive, intimidating, or threatening behavior.

  • Follow School & Office Rules: Sign in upon arrival and comply with all requirements for being on Department property, including requesting permission to enter or attend events.

  • Respect the Law: Treat everyone fairly, with dignity, and respect. Fully comply with all applicable laws and regulations, especially those protecting individuals from harassment and discrimination.
